Shiny Pointy Shards

Im Doing a Research Essay for my Jewellery course at Box Hill and I've chosen crystals, so I'm currently Researching them... pictured above are some that I own but these pics are pulled from random sites, I havent been able to get any decent photos of mine yet.I have quite a large collection which is arranged around my lounge room and bedroom. Also I'm very interested in the processes of electro plating quartz with titanium, gold and other metals to create different effects, I'm hoping to find a place I can use the equipment to do so for my jewellery. Also I got my first finished project, a head piece, silver plated the other day, very exciting, it came out sooo shiny and I'm really happy with the result, its currently sitting in my locker at tafe so that the clear resin could set overnight on the hologram resin jewel on the forehead pendant, it'd be cured now so hoping I can bring it home today for some photos!

Cherry bombs and monsters

Yay for 80's monsters..
I hate that all creatures in movies now are computer animation and there are no puppets any more!! what'll happen to all the puppeteers and sculptors who got to make cool monsters! very sad. I'm worried that they will ruin the Dark Crystal (one of my fav all time movies) sequel which is coming out in 2011, apparently it will be shot in stereoscopic 3D, the project will be a combo of live action and traditional puppetry combined with visual and special effects. Fantasy artist Brian Froud (<3!!)will be doing concept design again and the CGI elements will be handled by VFX company Iloura ("Where the Wild Things Are," "The Pacific"). Tho they say they're trying to hire as much of the original crew as possible to keep the same feel.. but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

And yay for tough girl bands of the 70's!

The lastest collection of Romance was born, they collaborated with Artist Kate Rohde... These are some of my favourites. So inspiring and magical.. oh my gosh .
